VNK x PAN Scriptieprijs

Dit jaar vindt voor de allereerste keer de uitreiking van de VNK x PAN Scriptieprijs plaats. Met deze scriptieprijs willen VNK en kunstbeurs PAN Amsterdam onderzoek stimuleren naar de kunst van het verzamelen en het vakgebied van de kunsthandel en dit onder de aandacht brengen. Aan de prijs is bovendien een geldbedrag van €1.000 verbonden. De scriptieprijs wordt beschikbaar gesteld door het PAN Educatiefonds.

Spelregels

Voor deze scriptieprijs komen masterscripties in aanmerking die een of meerdere aspecten van het kunst verzamelen en/of de kunsthandel tot onderwerp hebben. De scriptie moet geschreven zijn aan een Nederlandse universiteit, maar deelname staat ook open voor scripties die in het Engels zijn geschreven. Zowel docenten als studenten kunnen een scriptie voordragen, mits deze is beoordeeld met een 7,5 of hoger.

Aanmelden

Aanmelden kan via scriptieprijs@kunsthistorici.nl. Na je aanmelding sturen wij je een ontvangstbevestiging en verdere instructies voor het aanleveren van je scriptie. De deadline voor aanmelding voor de VNK x PAN Scriptieprijs 2022 is vrijdag 30 september 2022.

Genomineerden

Begin november worden drie genomineerden bekend gemaakt. Iedere genomineerde krijgt de gelegenheid zijn of haar scriptieonderzoek te presenteren op zaterdag 26 november tijdens PAN Amsterdam, waarna de prijswinnaar bekend wordt gemaakt.

Jury

De jury van de VNK x PAN Scriptieprijs 2022 bestaat uit:

• Mark Grol, algemeen directeur PAN Amsterdam
• Marion van der Marel, penningmeester Vereniging van Nederlandse Kunsthistorici (VNK)
• Arnold Ligthart, galeriehouder en specialist 19e tot en met 21e -eeuwse schilderkunst
• Rachel Esner, docent Kunstgeschiedenis aan de Universiteit van Amsterdam en directeur Onderzoekschool Kunstgeschiedenis (OSK)

VNK x PAN Thesis Award

This year for the first time ever the VNK x Pan thesis award ceremony will take place. The Dutch Art Historians Association (VNK) and Pan Amsterdam are looking to gather research about the art of collecting and to stimulate and draw attention to the discipline of art trade. The prize consists of a sum of €1000.

Criteria

For this thesis prize master's theses that have one or more aspects of art collecting and/or the art trade as their subject are eligible. The thesis must be written at a Dutch university, but participation is also open to theses written in English. Both lecturers and students can nominate a thesis, provided it has been assessed with a 7.5 or higher. You can register at scriptieprijs@kunsthistorici.nl. The last day to register for this prize is Friday, September 30th.

Nominees
In the beginning of November three nominees will be announced. Each nominee will get the opportunity to present their thesis research on Saturday November 26th during PAN Amsterdam, whereafter the winner will be declared.

Jury
The jury consists of a minimum of three persons; one Art History professor/teacher, one representative from the art trade/art market, and one representative of the VNK board.

Arnold Ligthart, art dealer and specialist 19th - 21st century painting
Rachel Esner, Art History teacher at the University of Amsterdam and director of the Art History Research School (OSK)
